My first experience with great music was when Counting Crows tangled Whiskytown’s “In Town” with their hit “Round Here” I heard the lyrics and ran to T-Bone records and bought Whiskytown’s Strangers Almanac. I still have the CD and every Whiskytown CD they ever made. At some point Ryan Adams decided he could live his life Without Caitlin Carey and broke out on his own and married Mandy Moore. Nothing against Mandy Moore but, I’m a chick and I’d take Caitlin Carey over Mandy Moore ANY day. She’s got killer harmonies and I’ve got killer legs so we could make the whole thing work. Anyway, back the The Jason Turner Band- I’ve loved a ton of artists but the first cords from this band took me straight back to my first true music experience.
Just one song and you’ll be ready to ice down the cooler, load up and hit a back road or just chill at the deer camp. Maybe even take that long weekend in New Orleans you’ve been meaning to take.
The Y’all lifestyle is a mind set- and this music can keep you right there. No boss, no bills, no nothin’ just great times, great music and friends.
Below is just a little more info on Jason and the band:
The Jason Turner Band’s high octane performances have been lighting up the stages of Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee and Alabama since 1997, and show no signs of slowing down. Wearing their influences on their sleeves, their sound channels the blues rock of the Black Crowes and Stevie Ray Vaughn with the fist pumping intensity of Pearl Jam, and the singer songwriter earnestness of Ryan Adams and John Mayer. Playing over 200 shows a year the Jason Turner Band have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such national acts as Violent Femmes, Robert Randolf and the family band, Blessid Union of Souls, Tantric, Crossfade, Josh Kelly, Crossin Dixon, Autovaughn, Jeremy Lister, and Ingram Hill.
